Wa lele po?

Wa lele po? is the Oshikwanyama morning greeting: literally, did you sleep well? The proper answer is Ee, onda lele po nawa, yes, I slept well, usually followed by asking the same in return.

Greetings are not small talk in Oshiwambo culture; they are the door to every conversation. Learn this one first and every elder you meet will forgive the rest of your grammar.
